Two(2) women have reportedly died and nine(9) injured in a ghastly road accident along Sagamu-Lagos highway in Ogun State on Friday.
The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement (TRACE) Corps said the accident occurred around 4pm today.
TRACE Corps spokesperson, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said a Toyota Hiace bus with Registration number, KSF 272 YN, was involved in the lone accident.
It was learnt learnt that the bus, conveying nine passengers from Ilorin, had a burst tyre, lost control and somersaulted into the bush
“The injured passengers were taken to Idera Hospital by TRACE, while the dead ones were taken to OOUTH by the FRSC.
“We learnt the commercial bus was coming from Ilorin inbound Lagos when it experienced a tyre burst due to over speeding, lost control in the process and thereafter somersaulted.
“Among the injured victims was the driver of the vehicle.
“While TRACE Corps commiserate with the family of the deceased victims, it impolres motorists to avoid over speeding and the use of expired and worn out tyres for the safety of all road users.” Akinbiyi stated.
