Argh! Am broke, what will my family feed on?, This has been the complains and question from people amid the worldwide lockdown and coronavirus pandemic.
We all understand we are in the tough times with numerous organizations and institutions on lockdown. But you definitely know there are some foods you hate but you are forced to eat because you went broke.
We have been able to compile 5 foods you might have tried or likely eat amid the pandemic…..
1. Garri Without Sugar And Groundnut.
We know how people love to take their garri with sugar, groundnut and chilled water and preferable with fried fish…Lool…
Most people who don’t want to die of hunger had to humble themselves with garri and normal water….some will even initiate the soak and travel method (This is when you leave your garri soaked in water for a while for it to swell).
2. Eba and Soup Without Meat.
Hmmm…. Eba with a nice combo of egusi garnished with stock-fish and brokoto won’t be bad..
With this ongoing lockdown and empty pockets, people tend to eat their Eba with normal soup without fish or meat just to survive.
3. Garri and Palm Oil.
This might sound funny, but yes people actually take garri and palm oil. A little water is added to the garri before it is mixed with palm oil.
This is common among Fulani’s (Northern Part of Nigeria). Would you love to try it??.
4. Cooked Yam and Water.
To some yam with palm oil or groundnut oil is a norm but it is preferable with fried egg. Some even eat the yam like that….
This covid-19 lockdown has really caused a lot…
5. Bread and Water.
How does bread and water taste, Heard it nice??… We are sure Bread and beans (ewa goyin) has been greatly missed amid this lockdown.
