What is 5g Network, its Danger In Nigeria (Abuja and Lagos) and UK all about, Is it even real?. Different questions are been asked in a better understanding of the 5G Network and the coronavirus pandemic.
What Is 5G Network?
5G Network is just a 5th generation mobile network. It is larger that previous other mobile network generations such as are 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G.
5G is a network plan to interconnect people, and control machines, objects, and devices that will increase and new levels of performance and efficiency with a delivery rates of up to 20 Gbps.
What Is 5g Network Danger?
With different conspiracy from theorists, 5G is an higher energy radiation that delivers potential damaging effects on human beings.
The new network has been said to generate radio frequency radiation that can damage DNA and lead to cancer; cause oxidative damage that can cause premature aging; disrupt cell metabolism; and potentially lead to other diseases through the generation of stress proteins. Some articles cite research studies and opinions by reputable organizations like the World Health Organization.
5G Network In UK?
With some wild conspiracy theories spreading out in the UK, 5G phone masts in the UK have misleadingly linked the cell towers to the coronavirus pandemic. Could That Be True?.
The BBC reports that at least three 5G towers were set alight within the last week, and police and fire services were called to extinguish the flames.
The National Health Service (NHS) director, at a daily UK coronavirus briefing talked about how he was outraged and disgusted on how people would be taking action against the infrastructure needed to tackle the covid-19 emergency.
Investigations is ongoing on how the 5G towers caught fire.
Is 5G In Nigeria (Lagos and Abuja)?
Nigerians are also reacting against the 5G Nework as some call for a take down.
A Nigerian Senator, Dino Melaye in video claims 5G technology is responsible for the spread of coronavirus all over the world. He also begged the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari to publicly reject the launch of the 5th Generation (5G) network.
In a youtube video he published on Friday, April 3, 2020, Dino Melaye was against the theory that 5G masts help to mobilise flu that comes in the form of covid-19 pandemic and called for a take down of the mast in Abuja and Ikeja in Lagos.
The Former Nigerian Senator backing up his claim said he had seen videos of birds and animals dropping dead because they get close to places where the 5G masts are installed.
He said: “5G helps to mobilise flu that comes in the form of coronavirus pandemic. And this is also helping to kill the immune system. So those with weaker immune systems and underlying medical conditions like diabetics, hypertension, respiratory and cancerous problems are easily consumed by reactions from 5G technology”.
Today Sunday, 5th of April 2020, Dino Melaye claimed in tweet that he has been receiving different threatening calls from unknown people after he publicly went against the 5th Generation (5G) network.
Well, The Nigerian Government denied the deployment and licence of the 5G network in the country and is yet to deliberate on the deployment of the network.
Read a part of the statement signed by the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami Below:
“The National Frequency Management Council (NFMC), of which I am the Chairman, has not deliberated on or released any bulk frequency spectrum for the deployment of 5G.”
“No license has been issued for the deployment of 5G in the country. A 3-month study trial commenced on the 25th of November, 2019 in order to critically review and study the health and security implications of deploying 5G in Nigeria”
5G And Coronavirus
Rumors and conspiracy theories of a link between the 5G and the spread of coronavirus have been spread primarily through social media networks. Groups on Facebook and other medias, where thousands of members repeat false and misleading claims that 5G is supposedly harmful.
One theory claims that the novel coronavirus originated in Wuhan because the Chinese city had recently been rolling out 5G. It’s now supposedly spread to other cities that are also using 5G.
These conspiracy theories neglect to mention that a highly contagious virus would naturally spread more in densely populated cities with access to 5G, and that the coronavirus pandemic has hit counties like Iran and Japan where 5G isn’t in use yet.
Videos have been shared on social media showing mobile phone masts on fire in Birmingham and Merseyside – along with the claims.
But scientists say the idea of a connection between Covid-19 and 5G is “complete rubbish” and biologically impossible.
