As #TorontoStrong trends on twitter, The City of Toronto marks the second anniversary of the Yonge Street van tragedy amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Mayor John Tory on twitter wrote;
“Today we mark a sad anniversary for our city and its residents. Two years ago, Toronto was shocked by a senseless act of violence and pure evil. We continue to remember the lives lost in the Yonge Street tragedy and those who were injured.”
” In the wake of this attack, our city was shaken, but as we mourn together we know that we are not broken and we will not be broken. Even now, in the face of a very different challenge in #COVID19, we will pull through. “
” Today we take time to properly recognize all of those lives lost and those who were injured in the Yonge Street Tragedy. Let us honour, today and every day, the memory of those lost.”
