Adebayo Akinfenwa was videoed praying on the pitch in Wembley after his club, Wycombe Wanderers, made history in Monday’s League One play-off final. He was also congratulated by the Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
Wycombe Wanderers secured promotion to play in the Championship for the first time in 133 years after defeating Oxford United 2-1.
Akinfenwa, who is also known as ‘the beast striker’, went on his knees after the game to thank God for this achievement.
Jurgen Klopp also congratulated Wycombe Wanderers striker Adebayo Akinfenwa after his side sealed promotion to the Championship.
“Hello big man, congratulations,” Klopp said in a WhatsApp video posted by Akinfenwa on social media.

Akinfenwa joined Wycombe Wanderers in 2016 after leaving Wimbledon.
