Brazilian midfielder Allan join Al Wahda on permanent deal from Everton
Former Brazil midfielder Allan has left Everton for Al-Wahda on a two-year contract, according to the UAE club.
Allan, 31, joined Everton from Napoli in a deal worth more than £21 million in 2020.
He appeared in 52 Premier League games in his first two seasons but has yet to play in 2022-23.
Frank Lampard has brought in a number of midfielders, including Idrissa Gueye and Amadou Onana.
Al Wahda, an Abu Dhabi-based UAE Pro League club, announced the signing on their Twitter feed, though Everton have yet to confirm the move.
“Al Wahda Football Club has contracted with the Brazilian player Alan Marcos, in a permanent transfer deal from the English club Everton and with a two-season contract. As part of the club’s efforts to strengthen the ranks of the first team and meet the requirements of success.” The club said in an official statement.
Medical completed and contracts signed in the last few hours, Allan leaves the Premier League.
The club’s board of directors welcomed “Allan” to the champions’ home, wishing him success during his time with the team.
“Allan,” for his part, praised the professional work done during the contracting procedures, expressing his joy at joining the homeland of champions and his desire to contribute to more achievements and victories.
Who is Allan?
Allan Marques Loureiro, also known as Allan Marques or simply Allan, is a Brazilian footballer who currently plays for Emirati club Al Wahda as a defensive midfielder.
After beginning his career in his home country’s Madureira youth system, he joined Uruguayan club Deportivo Maldonado before returning to Brazil and making his professional debut with Vasco da Gama in 2009. Allan joined Italian club Udinese in 2012 before moving to fellow Serie A club Napoli in 2015.
He was a member of the Brazil under-20 team that won the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup, and he later made his senior debut for Brazil in 2018; he was a member of the team that won the 2019 Copa América on home soil.
