Author of the Harry Potter series J.K Rowling said “it was very emotional” when she saw Daniel Radcliffe acting perfectly at a very young age. She was convinced Daniel was ‘the one’.
After Chris screen-tested Daniel with Rupert and Emma, he said it was immediately obvious they had chemistry.
The Harry Potter film series is the third highest-grossing film franchise of all time, with over $7.7 billion in worldwide box office receipts as of 2021. Without taking inflation into account, this is more than the first 22 James Bond films and the first six Star Wars films.
Chris Columbus’ Philosopher’s Stone became the highest-grossing Harry Potter film after its theatrical release in 2002, but it was eventually eclipsed by David Yates’ Deathly Hallows – Part 2, with Alfonso Cuarón’s Prisoner of Azkaban grossing the least.
