Gabby Petito Autopsy Result: Cause of death was strangulation
Teton County, WY, coroner Dr. Brent Blue said on Tuesday that the cause of Gabby Petito’s death was strangulation.
“We find the cause and manner to be death by strangulation and manner is homicide,” Dr. Brent Blue said during a press conference.
Blue also said that Petito died three to four weeks before her remains were found in Wyoming.
On September 21, the FBI’s Denver office announced the coroner’s initial determination of the manner of Petito’s death was a homicide.
The FBI is searching for Brian Laundrie, Petito’s 23-year-old fiancé who returned from a road trip to his home in Florida on September 1 without 22-year-old Petito.
“In the matter of the death of Gabrielle Venora Petito, I, Brent Blue MD, Coroner of Teton County Wyoming, hereby find the cause and manner of death to be:
Cause: Death by manual strangulation/throttling.
Manner: Homicide“, The official autopsy report reads. Pei-Sze Cheng of New York City TV station WNBC obtained the document signed by Blue.
Laundrie is the subject of a federal arrest warrant in relation to a grand jury indictment for his activities following Petito’s death, according to the FBI.
