Howard University beats Morgan State In First-Ever NBA HBCU Classic
Howard University’s Men’s Basketball Team has defeated Morgan State in the first-ever NBA HBCU Classic on Saturday. They took home the win with a 68-66 score.
What is the HBCU Classic?
The NBA and the NBA Players’ Association are showcasing the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) community throughout the 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend in Cleveland, building on the success of last year’s All-Star Weekend in Atlanta. The first-ever HBCU Classic, a nationally broadcast Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference contest between Morgan State and Howard University, showcases such efforts.
More than $1 million was donated to the HBCU community as part of the NBA All-Star Weekend through the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), UNCF (United Negro College Fund), and academic institutions.
