Swiss tennis player, Roger Federer has made known his plans to retire from professional tennis after the Laver Cup.

This is coming after Serena Williams announced her retirement last month, Federer has been battling a knee injury for three years now.

The 41-year old who is a 20-time Grand slam Champion made this announcement on Thursday via a letter posted on his social media.

Federer who has 20 Grand Slam titles, 31 Grand Slam finals, 6 Australian Open titles, 5 US Open titles,1 French Open title, 1,251 career matches won out of 1,526, 369 match wins in Grand Slams, 103 – career titles, second in the Open era behind Jimmy Connors, 6 titles won at the ATP Finals, among others.

He has an estimated net worth of 550 million (USD),130,594,339 tennis career prize money (USD), and has lost 24 times to his great rival Rafael Nadal in 40 matches.
