When will Chatgpt cost money? (2023 Updated)
It is unclear when Chatgpt will cost money, but it will be soon. However, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has warned that Chatgpt won’t be free forever.
“We will have to monetize it somehow at some point; the compute costs are eye-watering” He tweeted.
The business, which projects $200 million in revenue in 2023, is not a nonprofit.
It was a wise marketing move to give the first taste away, so to speak. More than a million users are said to have tried ChatGPT in the weeks following its release, with OpenAI bearing the cost.
Additionally, OpenAI is well on its way to becoming the company most closely associated with startling developments in consumer-facing AI thanks to the spring 2022 release of DALL-E 2, the current focus on ChatGPT, and the startling rumors about GPT-4, an even more advanced text-based AI program allegedly arriving the following year.
According to Sam Altman in a tweet, the average cost per chat on CHAT GPT is a single-digits cent. The business will therefore eventually monetize the chatbot.
What is also clear is that ChatGPT will have an impact on knowledge workers and the future of work as AI becomes more mainstream.
